Teacher Assistant
Tuition Waiver Program

The WCU School of Education is proud to announce a new pathway for teacher assistants to earn their Elementary Education degree at Carey with a 50% tuition waiver. Course delivery options are available to any eligible teacher assistant that meets the requirements.

Prospective Students must:

Be lawfully employed as a Teacher Asst. in an accredited MS public school system.
Be fully admitted to William Carey University and the School of Education Teacher Assistant program.
Have an ACT composite score of 21+ OR have passing scores on the Praxis CORE exam. This requirement has been waived until December 2021.
Have a GPA of 2.75+ on core courses at time of application.
Waiver Requirements
Prospective Students must:

Carefully read the Tuition Scholarship University Policy.
Complete the Teacher Assistant Scholarship application.
Complete the Employment Verification Form (must be signed by the principal of your employed school).
Carefully read the Service Agreement and sign it in front of an authorized Notary Public.
Submit application and required forms to the School of Education at least 2 weeks prior to the start of classes.
Complete the registration process following all University policies and procedures.
The tuition waiver covers undergraduate level courses towards a baccalaureate degree in an Education subject to credit hour limits.
