Lori Anne Windham
Associate Professor of Education
School of Education
Dr. Lori Windham, a resident of Saucier, Mississippi, served as an elementary school classroom teacher for 23 years at Saucier Elementary School before joining William Carey full-time. While in the classroom, she taught grades 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in self-contained, team teaching, departmentalized, and looping situations. Her primary focus has always been on literacy development. At the school and district level, she planned, organized, and implemented professional development related to English Language Arts. In 2010, she was named Harrison County School District’s Teacher of the Year. At the university level, she is involved with the Higher Education Literacy Council in redesigning literacy instruction for future and current educators, teaches undergraduate courses and supervises student teachers.
Lori strives to live her life according to Colossians 3:17, “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” She is an avid reader, a life-long learner, loves the beach, and enjoys spending time with her husband, Daniel, and their family.
