Liesa M. Weaver

Liesa Weaver, a native of rural Potts Camp, a small town in North Mississippi, has been an educator and administrator for 40 years in various settings. Graduating from Potts Camp Attendance Center, she played varsity basketball from eighth to twelfth grade, and one year at Northwest Community College. Since 1977, she has taught in five K-12 school districts across the state of Mississippi. Prior to her appointment at William Carey University, she taught first through eighth grades, served as an elementary principal at three different schools, and was the Title I Coordinator at Petal Schools. She has also worked for the Mississippi Department of Education with the Office of School Improvement and the Department of Teacher Evaluation, the General Educational Development (GED) and Adult Education programs at Pearl River Community College, and as a consultant for the South Mississippi Regional Service Center. Her professional interests include leadership and curriculum development and interactive teaching and learning. Liesa enjoys all sports, reading, gardening, and watching her grandson, Tristan, play baseball.
