The Master of Education in Interscholastic Administration focuses on building applied capabilities for effectively planning, organizing, and controlling the quality of interscholastic athletic and/or private sector sports programs. The foundation of the program is an understanding and practice of research-based leadership and management models. With flexible course offerings, this program is convenient for full-time working professionals in K-12 schools, colleges, or the private sector.

The program is 33 total hours and includes 18 hours of PED coursework, which qualifies a student earning this degree to teach at a university or community college level, and an applied fieldwork project. A new cohort begins each Summer and Fall term.
Delivery Method
The IAA program is offered in both hybrid and fully online formats, making it convenient for full-time working students who want to take their career to the next level.
Applicant Prerequisites & Requirements
Prospective students must:
Complete an online application & pay application fee
Submit official copies of all transcripts to Graduate Admissions via eScript or mailed from the institution
Provide two recommendations from past or current supervisors
Have a GPA of 2.5 for the last 64 hours of undergraduate work or a cumulative GPA of 2.5
Hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university

NOTE: Those students in the program who seek AA licensure approval upon completion must also:
Provide documentation of at least three years of teaching experience
Hold a current five-year teaching license
Career Outlooks
This degree is fully approved through the MS Department of Education Licensing Commission for upgrades to teacher’s licenses and also carries an athletic director endorsement. Completion of this program qualifies students to teach or coach at a university or community college level. Students may also enjoy careers in athletic facility administration and management.
